TLDR

Emergency website repair for Canadian small businesses. Free 1-hour triage, standard recovery from $499 with most sites back online next-day, malware and hacked site recovery from $1,499. No emergency surcharges.

When sites go down

Why most businesses lose their website.

Your web developer disappeared

We can recover access to your domain, hosting, and site even if your last developer is gone, fired, or unreachable. We have done this dozens of times.

Your site got hacked or shows malware warnings

Full malware removal, .htaccess cleanup, ghost admin removal, and Google Search Console reconsideration request. From $1,499.

A WordPress update broke everything

Plugin conflicts, white screen of death, theme failures. We diagnose, roll back, and stabilize. Most fixes within 4 hours.

You forgot you had no backups

We pull from host auto-backups, Wayback Machine snapshots, Google cache, anywhere your site might still exist. If we cannot recover, we rebuild.

Why Canadian websites go down (and what every hour offline really costs)

Every hour a business website is offline costs real money: missed calls, lost quote requests, and Google flagging the downtime if your pages stop responding long enough. In Canada, the three most common causes of emergency website outages are WordPress vulnerabilities, hosting failures, and lost developer access. Understanding which category your site falls into is the first step toward getting back online faster.

WordPress is the #1 attack surface in Canada

WordPress powers roughly 43% of websites globally, and that share is proportionally higher among Canadian small businesses and trades contractors. The vulnerability is almost never WordPress core itself, which receives regular security patches: it is plugins. Over 60% of exploited WordPress installations are compromised through an outdated or abandoned plugin, many of which stop receiving security updates while remaining active on sites. A site running 15+ plugins on an old PHP version is not a question of if it gets compromised. If this sounds familiar, a maintenance retainer with automatic security updates and weekly backups is the cheapest insurance you can buy.

Hosting failures and SSL expirations

Shared hosting plans fail quietly. Billing lapses, storage limits, and server-side PHP upgrades that conflict with your site's code all produce outages that look identical to a hack from the outside. SSL certificates expire every 90 days on Let's Encrypt and fail to auto-renew more often than hosts admit: a renewed certificate that misses its install step leaves browsers blocking the site with a full-screen warning that sends every visitor straight back to Google. These are infrastructure failures that have nothing to do with your site's code, and they are resolved in hours, not days.

The lost-access emergency

One of the most common calls we take is from a business owner who changed developers, let a staff member go, or simply cannot locate the login details for their domain registrar or hosting account. The site is up but completely unmanageable, or it is down and nobody can get in to fix it. In Metro Vancouver, lost developer access accounts for a significant share of the emergency calls we handle. Every major hosting provider and domain registrar has an account recovery path. We have run this process for Bluehost, SiteGround, GoDaddy, WPEngine, Cloudflare, and most others. If you are ready to move to a platform that will not leave you locked out, we can quote that on the same triage call.

What it costs

Transparent pricing. No emergency surcharge games.

Most agencies charge double for emergency work. We do not. Our prices are the same whether your site went down at 9am Tuesday or 11pm Saturday. The only thing that changes is how fast we move on it. Free triage call, fixed quote upfront, no surcharges, no surprises.

Fixed-Price Promise

Free diagnosis. Fixed quote upfront. No work starts until you approve the price. Same prices at 9am Tuesday or 11pm Saturday, no surcharges for emergency work.

30-Day Re-Fix Promise

If the same issue returns within 30 days of recovery, we fix it free. We stand behind the work, not just the invoice.

Common questions

Emergency repair questions answered.

How fast can you respond to my emergency?

Triage calls are returned within 1 hour during business hours (Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm PST). After-hours emergencies are returned by 9am the following morning. Most Standard Recovery jobs are back online next-day, often same-day if the scope allows.

What if you cannot fix my website?

On the free triage call we tell you upfront whether we can fix it, how long it will take, and the exact price. If we determine the existing site is not worth saving, we will quote a Next.js rebuild instead, but that is your choice, not a forced upsell.

What if the same problem comes back?

Standard Recovery jobs include a 30-day re-fix promise. If the issue we fixed returns within 30 days, we fix it again at no charge. This covers the original problem, not new unrelated issues that arise later, and it covers our work, not third-party platform changes outside our control.

My old web developer disappeared. Can you still help?

Yes, this is actually one of the most common scenarios we handle. We can help you recover access to your domain registrar, hosting account, and site files even if your previous developer is unreachable, fired, or out of business. The process varies by platform but we have a runbook for every major host.

Do you handle hacked sites or just regular outages?

Both. Hacked sites and malware infections are a separate tier ($1,499+) because they involve full malware removal, .htaccess cleanup, ghost admin account removal, security hardening, and a Google Search Console reconsideration request if your site has been flagged as deceptive. We include 30 days of monitoring after the cleanup.

I have no backups. Can my site still be recovered?

Usually yes. Most hosts (SiteGround, Cloudways, WPEngine, Kinsta, Bluehost, HostGator) keep their own automatic backups for 7 to 60 days, even if you did not set up your own. We also pull from Wayback Machine snapshots, Google cache, and any source code repositories that might exist. If nothing is recoverable, we will quote a rebuild using your existing site as a reference.

What is the difference between repair and rebuild?

Repair fixes the immediate issue and gets you back online. Rebuild is a fresh modern Next.js website that loads instantly, ranks well, and will not have the same problem again. We always quote both options on the triage call so you can decide. Repair is the right call for most healthy sites; rebuild is the right call when the existing site is so old, slow, or fragile that fixing it is throwing good money after bad.
