Pricing questions
How much does a website cost in Vancouver?
How much does a website cost for a Vancouver trades business?
A custom 5-page site starts at $2,000 CAD. That includes design, development, deployment, schema markup, Google Analytics, and one round of revisions. Standard builds (8–10 pages with location pages and gallery) run $3,500. Advanced builds with integrations, unlimited location pages, or e-commerce start at $5,000. Everything is fixed-price — no surprise invoices.
Why does a custom Next.js site cost more than a WordPress site?
It does not have to — plenty of WordPress developers charge more than we do. What you are paying for is not the technology, it is the outcome. A static Next.js site on Vercel loads in under 1 second and hits 90+ Lighthouse out of the box. A WordPress site with a page builder averages 3–6 seconds. For a trades business, that speed difference is the difference between getting the call and losing it. Plus no monthly plugin fees, no security vulnerabilities from outdated plugins, and no platform lock-in.
What is included in the price — do I need to pay for hosting separately?
The build price is one-time: design, development, deployment, and launch. Hosting is separate and handled through a monthly retainer starting at $200/mo, which includes Vercel hosting, SSL, backups, and technical support. If you want to host it yourself on Vercel's free tier and manage it independently, that is also fine — you own the code.
Is the monthly retainer required?
No. You own the site and all the code after launch. Most clients keep a retainer because the economics make sense — one extra lead per month covers it — but it is never mandatory. Cancel with 30 days notice, no contracts.
Do you charge for discovery calls, proposals, or estimates?
No. The estimate tool on this site is free. Discovery calls are free. We do not charge until you have decided to proceed and paid a deposit. The deposit is 50% of the project total, with the remainder due on launch day.
How do add-ons work — are they quoted upfront?
Yes. If you know you need a booking integration or extra location pages, include them in your estimate and we scope them into the fixed quote. Nothing gets added to your invoice without your explicit sign-off. The prices listed are starting points — complex integrations may be quoted higher depending on the specific tool.
